"Responsible one is not only for what you do but also for what it does not."
As a successful company, our social commitment is part of our philosophy. We want to fulfill our social responsibility and share the fruits of our success with others. This is why we are supporting various regional and nationwide projects and facilities such as recently:
In 2019 we supported the JoMa-Projekt Society which supports families with terminally ill and severely disabled children and adolescents. Counselling, long-term support, and seminars to stabilise and strengthen the affected persons are made possible.
In 2017, we sponsored the young athletes of the Athletics SV Esting department.
In the previous year we supported was „Sucht- und Jugendhilfe e.V.“ (addiction aid and youth work). We helped them fund a guide titled „Youth and Integration“, a booklet informing on prevention of addiction which is distributed free of charge among children in various schools in Munich. We also supported SC Gröbenzell, a sports club in the Munich suburb providing one of their junior teams with new track suit tops and rain jackets.
Since 2005, Children's Ambulatory Hospice Foundation Munich (Stiftung Ambulantes Kinderhospiz München - AKM) has been providing support to families of children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions across Bavaria. From the point of diagnosis, the families are looked after by a team of doctors, psychologists, social workers, midwives and nursing staff as well as by specially trained volunteers.
As a charity AKM is widely dependent on private donations to provide its services. In 2019, we made a contribution to support their work and families in need.
In 2018, we donated to the NCL Foundation. It is committed to national and international research funding in order to give the children affected by childhood dementia NCL a chance of missing therapeutic and healing approaches. Childhood dementia NCL is a deadly, previously poorly-researched metabolic disease.
A Munich integrational school for mentally or physically handicapped students and students without disabilities (Bayerische Landesschule für Körperbehinderte) carried out a fundraising campaign in 2016 themed „Solidarity“. This time, these children were not the ones to receive the donations, instead, they collected donations for children and young people with disabilities in Bogotá/Columbia. They were happy to hear that SEKAS increased the collected amount with an additonal donation from their side.
